Австралийский совет по образованию (государственный консультативный орган; занимается проблемами обучения на всех этапах; контролирует стоимость школьного строительства, регистрирует частные школы. В его ведении сбор статистических данных, контроль за обучением детей аборигенов и т. п. С 1978 имеет постоянный секретариат в Мельбурне. Состоит из министра просвещения страны {Commonwealth Minister for Education} и министров просвещения всех штатов и Северной Территории {State Ministers for Education}. Собирается каждые 8 месяцев)
